The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has entered the final phase of integrated trial runs for Line 3 (Aqua Line), spanning from Aarey Colony in the north to Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai.
Spanning 33.5 km with 27 underground stations, Line 3 is Mumbai’s first fully underground metro corridor. Phase 1 between Aarey and BKC has already been serving commuters since late 2024.
Once fully operational, Line 3 is projected to reduce road traffic congestion along the busy Western Express Highway and Senapati Bapat Marg by over 15%, providing seamless transit to financial hubs including BKC and Nariman Point.
